The village of Camber is situated only 5 miles from Rye and is well known for its fine sandy beach only 100m from Seagulls and soft sandy dunes known as Camber Sands. This five mile beach runs from the mouth of the River Rother up towards the military ranges past Jury’s Gap. The beach has become a popular destination with holiday makers, kite surfers, dog walkers, equestrian riders and film makers alike, with its south facing vistas looking out into the English Channel. The village has grown significantly over the past 60 years with many original houses now being demolished and rebuilt or renovated to meet modern standards. This is particularly true for many of the original small beach front buildings in ‘The Suttons’ which have either been rebuilt or renovated into smart, architecturally innovative buildings, making many into millionaire properties with direct access onto the beach.
